Can We Stop Hating Thursday Night Football?

The National Symbol for Thursday Night Football

Thursday Night Football is NOT bad.

Thursday Night football is very rarely a barn burner of a game. Side note: What does “Barn Burner” even mean? Dumb statement, anyway. There are rare nights where Thursday nights shine. The Pats completing a 16-0 season in 2007, The Raiders and Chargers playing a 3D game (look it up), and let’s not forget the beautiful Color rush years from 2016 to 2018. The color rush games gave us the gross Jags golden mustard jersey and the receding hair line helmets with a Quarter back to match, Sorry Blake Bortles.

Thursday night games are full of gimmicks, but that’s what makes them entertaining! They take meh football and add sparklers to it to make it shine. Thursday night football isn’t a main course, hell it’s not even an appetizer. Thursday Night Football is the bowl of popcorn at the bar, at it’s best, it is the free tortilla chips at a Mexican restaurant. It is made to carry you over all while making you more hungry for the Entree (College Football Saturday and NFL Sunday). You need to appreciate Thursdays for the salty popcorn that it is.
